The fish that we carry can be divided into two main categories: open water fish (pelagic) and bottom fish (benthic). Open water fish are larger fish that travel across all the oceans. The meat of pelagic fish tends to be firmer and have a robust flavor. Open water fish we carry include Bluefin tuna, albacore, swordfish, and yellowtail jack. Bottom fish are found near the coast either in shallow waters or on the bottom of the ocean. Bottom fish are flaky and have a milder flavor when cooked. The bottom fish we carry include sea bass, grouper, snapper, rock cod, and halibut (fluke). We also offer a “catch of the day” special, which can consist of a variety of bottom fish or open water fish that happen to be in stock the day you order.
