Our jumbo sushi scallops are the largest and freshest that you can find anywhere. In sushi bars, scallop served as sashimi is known as hototegai. There are less than 8 of these jumbo scallops per pound.

The prized giant deepwater scallop, Mano de Leon (Nodipecten subnodosus), is aptly named by Mexican divers who are reminded of a lion’s paw by its size and golden orange coloration. They are picked by divers in pristine lagoons nourished by the Pacific Ocean. Our scallops are completely free of chemicals, water, or other additives. The natural meat color ranges from off-white to yellow-orange. Excellent on the grill or seared in a sauté pan, these firm, meaty scallops are creamy rich in flavor and an ideal compliment to any surf and turf plate or can be the featured course. With limited seasonal openings and developing farming techniques, the Mano de Leon scallop is a well managed sustainable resource with strictly enforced harvesting procedures. Our scallops are called “dry pack diver scallops” because we don“t add water or chemicals to increase the water content. Scallops may have been previously frozen.

Our fresh and live seafood products are as fresh as you can get because we purchase directly from reputable fishermen in California and Baja California who take great pride in providing the highest quality seafood. The seafood is caught and immediately iced or brought to our live tanks until you order. We package it with care, keep it cold in insulated boxes and ship it overnight with FedEx so that it reaches your door fresher than the vast majority of most supermarkets and restaurants.

I can't believe i saw bland being applied to these superb scallops. They are giants and are extremely flavorfull - will never go back to anything else - the fact that they are not treated makes a huge difference in flavor as well as cooking. For ours i heated a saute pan ( thin so it gets really hot ) - first on medium heat with a little olive oil - when it gets almost to smake point i add a fe tbs of clarified butter and then the scallops. For the two of us 4 are plenty. they take about 2-3 mins on all sides and the carmelize perfectly. When they are close to done i take them out and split them - back in the pan on the flat side for 30 sec - then serve.

This was so Ono (good), so sweet! I ate them on sushi rice and just dipped it in hot mustard sauce.  Will purchase more, but this time will double my order...

this is my second time ordering these scallops. the 1st time the scallop were sweet. on my last order the scallops had a darker shade and tasted very bland. had to throw them out. i will not risk ordering again.

These giant sea creatures are impeccable!  The size, the texture, the sweetness . . . along with the Mt. Hood Alpine Salmon, this is MUST EAT SASHIMI . . . and, quite simply, *PERFECT*.  I have searched far and wide for anything comparable, but it DOES NOT EXIST!  Thank you Catalina . . . I am a forever loyal customer.
