Fresh wild king salmon (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha) is only available for a limited season. The biggest advantage of properly frozen seafood is that it enables you to enjoy your favorite varieties year round! One of the most popular seafoods consumed in the U.S., king salmon boast a rounder mid-section in comparison to the longer, thinner body of the common Atlantic salmon species, resulting in generous fillets. King salmon are also naturally high in heart healthy omega-3 fatty acids.
The coveted king salmon is the largest of the five species of wild Pacific salmon. Also known as Chinook, this fish is highly sought after by chefs around the world.The result of its high oil content is a soft and buttery texture that makes it a pleasure to eat, particularly as sashimi and sushi. This fish is also wonderful baked, broiled and pan seared! Frozen fillets are skin off.
