With its delicate sweet-sea flavor and a temptingly soft texture, uni has long been a popular delicacy in sushi bars throughout the world. South America is home to several species of sea urchins, where colder equatorial waters produce a Premium uni (B Grade) that may be darker in color and firmer in texture than our California Premium uni. Please note that slight variations in color and texture may occur within the same package.
South American uni ranges in flavor from salty to slightly sweet and is traditionally enjoyed raw with a spritz of lemon. It is also a popular addition to Latin-inspired seafood dishes and salads. For maximum enjoyment fresh uni should be consumed within 4-6 days upon delivery.
